bluezone News
Next week begins the bluezone at the munichfabricstartpre collections in hall 5 (Zenith Hall) and you are warmly invited. Come in and join us when everything revolves around the new winter season as parallel to the munichfabricstartpre collections. Denim is and will remain exciting. This season the bluezone presents itself with the trend theme “Sonic Youth” as a melting pot of youth cultures: uncompromising, rebellious and surrounded by a rough industrial world.

57 international weavers, finishers, washers and suppliers of garments & finishing will be there. They count to the fashion-leaders of the industry and set out on their journey to Munich with zest. These include Hellenic Fabrics (GR), Orta Anadolu (TR), Italdenim (I), Kurabo Denim and Kuroki from Japan, as well as Raymond Uco Denim (IND). They come with complete and partly selected, expressive collections and the latest news. The bandwidth of products is greater than ever: sassy destroyed-looks, cool “dusty” denims with the touch of industrial factory-styles, smooth and highly elastic denimleggins and ecologically oriented lines.

Nine newcomer exhibitors enrich the offer, among others Kassim Textiles from Pakistan. Companies like Asterias (TN), Bust A Nut (G), Consulting Box Denim Services (I), Sapphire Finishing (PK) and ZET (G) strengthen the section Garments & Finishing.

bluezone trend H/W 2010/2011
Sonic Youth
The trend theme stands for an anti-establishment movement and for an individual lifestyle of a revolting youth that stands up to its ideologies. The godfather of this atmosphere of departure is the equally named band from the 80s that rebelled against the pre-reigning Pop-Rock culture to that time and let off steam in New Rave, Noise-Rock and Post-Punk. Washed out blue, green and grey shades evoke an industrial charm and contrast with the intense nuances of the real “Bleu de Nîmes”. Mechanical, metallic surfaces cause reflections. This is where provocative looks go along with authentic factory styles.

Our trend charts for you
FABRICS FOR DENIM AND SPORTSWEAR, FINISHINGS
1. Leatherfinishings in dark tones
2. Compact coating, acutely waxed
3. Clearly structured surfaces like distinctive popeline or twill
4. Metallic laminations under dark coatings
5. Shine through blends with polyester, Lurex or viscose

DENIM COLOURS
1. Light blue for the feminine style
2. Black blue shades in clear shapes and for solid ware
3. Concrete grey for the casual chic
4. The intense, real indigo, also known as “Bleu de Nîmes”, for the original look

COLOURS FOR SPORTSWEAR
…are generally en vogue in two different designs. Unwashed versions, that appear as if just coming from the factories for workwear, in petrol blue, grey and metallic semiblue, or with washings so strong, that the colours look as if been exposed to the hard work from years of coal mining. Light, neutral shades of olive or brick stone suit perfect for dry and rough grasps.

bluezone appetizer
Royo: Freaky & Eco
The Spain convince once again with incredible finishings and colours based on various shades of black, prune, earthy tones and levels of grey. Coatings in metallic look and leatherlike grasp meet with noble denim of the fine kind, “very sophisticated”.

ITV: Extreme
The Italians really hit the pedal to the metal: Mysterious, dark colours, deep indigo and black create the basis for coloured denims. The new reactive-dye “Nero Permanente” stands for durable black denims. Highly elastic qualities can be found under the headings “Megaflex” and vintage is also still up-to-date.

Bossa: Nota Bene
Ecology, recycled denim and paper yarns –the Turks are at the pulse of time. Very extraordinary are denims with Japanese washi paper yarns in the shoot. They especially score with their dry grasp, their sleaziness and breathability while simultaneously absorbing smells and dust. With the organic collection and recycled denims, Bossa is absolutely eco-oriented.

Vicunha Europe: Break free
The Brazilian specialist in denim stands out against the rest with four satisfying themes: “Indigo/Redcast” with dark, clean indigo-colourings. Irregular yarns, the domestos-effect or ring-open-end-yarns in 60s and 80s style are expressions of a rebellious “break-free-spirit” continuing the vintage-story. Power-stretch-articles react to the leggings-look trend for jeans and the recycled cotton fabrics from Vicunha respond to the social debate around ecology.
