Green emotions: organicselection
More and more visitors search for eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics and knitwear. The new organic forum “organicselection by munichfabricstart” in hall nr. 3 and the supplements in the fair catalogue give you detailed information about organic products, their manufacturers and their corresponding certifications. A professional will support you at any time during the fair as person of contact. The first two days of the fair you can listen to lectures about certifications and equipment held by experts of the IMO Ltd from Swiss, an independent and renowned control station for organic products.
The pre-trends autumn/winter 2010/2011: Departure
Puritans
A quiet atmosphere. Real, serious and durable. A fashion that promises calmness/balance and modern comfort. Modesty and neo-conservatism are equally expressions of the new time as the classicism will always be. Colours: gentle, light winter pastels, bleu- and rosewood-tinged shades of white, accompanied by restful shades of grey and light wooden nuances.

Dark ink
A world between surrealism and mysticism, between poetry and psycho-trip, translated into dark colours as if there only existed the time between dusk and thick night. Fabrics as shot silks or bicolours will be important.
Black alternating in cold and warm nuances, shimmering in midnight blue, viola and green.

Occident express

A lively theme, appearing historically inspired with a baroque touch and in any case electric. Here we meet a combination of Baltic patterns and designs with French Savoir-vivre and English classics like herringbone twill and tweed. Iced and powdered shades of red and yellow are arranged together with matt, autumnal Heritage-colours as bronze, coffee and kaki. Hyper real
New ecology and high-tech meet recycling. Surprising innovations of unusual material play with experimental forms: asymmetric, extreme, re-designed. Thereto colours that remind of the nightly sea of lights of the metropolises, based on the metallic and earthy neutrals of the house facades. Technical colourings in canary-yellow, fresh green, vibrant orange-red and intensive turquoise set highlights in this neo-natural world.

Denim & Sportswear: Sonic Youth
The aesthetic and functional charm of old industrial plants conjoins vigorously with an ascending anti-establishment-scene and juvenile protest-looks. An atmosphere of departure expresses itself in New Rave, Post Punk and Noise Rock. Worn and washed out shades of blue, green and grey come along with strong nuances of real “Blue de Nîmes”. Reflections of chrome or the appearance of liquid quicksilver are applied for the prints.

Kids & Youth: Milky Way
It’s a journey through fantasy worlds and distant galaxies. At times surreal, then spacy and sometimes dreamy. Beams of light move through the universe, as if spaceships had drawn them into the black. Blurs of mandarin, light violet or chilly green break through the phalanx of dark blue and black shades of the Milky Way.
News from the exhibitors

Faiss-Textil: More Eco-power
More than ever Faiss-Textil, Balingen (D), dedicates itself to organic textiles. After already offering organic qualities with great success, the number of KBA/IVN and GOTS certified products has increased. Aside to plain fabrics, new qualities join the range, striped in mixtures and colours. The machinery and the storage of coloured yarns allow meeting even the extraordinary customer preferences. » www.faiss.de

Philea Textiles: Fast Track
Hot news for this winter 2009/10 and for summer 2010. The French experts for silky fabrics offer under “casual clearness” next to crepe fabrics, old appearing sheen aspects, knitwear and bronze-coloured leather imitations, also festively glimmering fabrics for New Year. For the summer Philea provides denim-looks and jeans-like tones of blue for weaving and printing and moreover, highly in-fashion animal prints and bright lipstick- and candy-colours, always to short times of delivery. In addition to that, Philea offers customers from now a ready-made clothing service and supplements the fabrics with the matching galloons for belts or straps of different weight. » www.philea.net

Seram: Trends for winter 2010/2011
The French professional for braids and borders devotes to four winter themes: “Macao” evokes the boudoir-atmosphere of the 20s, indulges in mystically oriental flower prints, sheer and pleated fabrics and gets inspired by Japanese colours as opium, absinth, tobacco and smoke. “Dreams” exposes the way into a fantasy world of dark silhouettes and soft and comfortable material with all shades of white and chiné-effects. “Slavic” in contrast, mixes elements of the Slavic cultures – chic and often graphical. Colours rich in contrast, remind of the keen sense of designing of a certain Yves Saint Laurent, by strictly following an urban geometry and by wallowing in complicated embellishments. The “dollhouse” is best described as sparkly and playful. Prints, laces and embroideries in fresh, feminine colours with a touch of nostalgia seem like “homemade”. » www.seram.com

Prym Fashion: button for button
The expert for closure technologies from Stolberg (D) gives fresh impetus into the “vintagemania” with his topic “ancient adventure”. Fashion and accessories tell stories of archaeology, the desert and of adventures, appearing simple and rustic. The matching buttons for jeans are provided with a rust- and patina-finish on steel, covered with a special lacquer and ornamented with a hammered lizard. Furthermore the buttons are removable, in order to spare the “antique” buttons while washing. At the same time, the possibility to change the design lets creative minds change their style down to their whim. Riveted models with messing as basic material finally round out the interesting selection. » www.prym-fashion.com

Freshtex: Vintage & More
The new collection of the specialist in finishing from Heilbronn (D) still goes for used-looks and destroyed-looks, although reducing the dose of synthetic resin in favour of natural vintage themes. Highly visible are the Japanese influences in special looks and techniques of Moustache and used-effects, which originate from the company-owned R&D centres in Japan and on the Philippines. Another emphasis is put on the relatively young line called “function goes fashion” that functionalises conventional fabrics like denim and flat textile structures with cosmetic substances in form of microcapsules. Finishing versions with “slimming-effect” already realise commercial success. New are functional fabrics that are trimmed specifically for fashion with vintage-finishes. Additional themes are “Urban Soul” with ideas for a cultivated citywear with vintage-allures, while the theme “Twilight” shows provocative and innovative finishing. The organic line “Eco-friendly finishes” with products certified by G.O.T.S. signalises that Freshtex is willing to take the “green route” towards an environmentally friendly and sustainable production. Last but not least: Due to the new partner companies in Pakistan, India, China, Taiwan and Bangladesh, Freshtex could enlarge their product range considerably.
fair for kids – newly established school centre
Under the name “Kutty’s Rajyam”, “kingdom of the children”, the first fair-for-kids-school-centre has been inaugurated the 18th of May 2009 in the Indian Kathaparai, Karur district, Tamil Nadu. This wonderful name was given by the children themselves. “Kutty’s Rajyam” is a fantastic example therefore that the textile industry feels the responsibility towards the disadvantaged. Within just one year, the centre was fully financed by the fair for kids initiative. Now, a library with more than 1000 children’s books, a music- and a computer room, a laboratory and plenty of space to learn and play, all contribute to a happy education and carefree development of 2’000 children.
Wolfgang Klinder, manager of the fair and initiator of fair for kids, gives thanks to all who participated:
“Hundreds of exhibitors now already engage for the third time with a donation averaging 25 € per fair. Without our exhibitors fair for kids wouldn’t be able to exist. Together we supported the project “Psycho Trust” and enabled the establishment of this school centre. The school centre is a first step, which will be followed by many more. Thank you to all who are involved in fair for kids!”

Fair for kids, the aid initiative for children working in the Indian textile industry, has been brought into being by the munichfabricstart exhibitions GmbH and is planned and realised on site in cooperation with terre des hommes and the Psycho Trust project.
